The Organising Committee of the Budapest Water Summit 2019 held its second session

The preparatory body of the Summit has now come together for the second time in the Conference Room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.

During the meeting, Mr István Joó, Deputy State Secretary, Chair of the Committee briefed the members on the progress of the preparations regarding the organization of the Summit. The Deputy State Secretary emphasized that the official website of the Summit, available at www.budapestwatersummit.hu  from 15 May 2019, has been visited by professionals from nearly 100 countries within one week after its launch.

The Chair of the Committee also drew attention to the fact that online pre-registration has begun for the Digital and Nature-based Sustainable Solutions Expo, held on the margins of the conference. Applications are accepted until 30 June 2019.

During the meeting, representatives from the relevant ministries, professional organisations and educational institutions briefly reported on their own-initiated lead-up events, and the cultural events related to the Summit were also presented. At the meeting, the Deputy State Secretary stressed that in addition to improving cooperation between the various political, professional and financial sectors, the Summit contributes greatly to the international expansion and development of the Hungarian water industry and water education sector.

Summary of the Budapest Water Summit 2019

Following the success of the conferences held in 2013 and 2016, the Budapest Water Summit was organised by the Government of Hungary for the third time on 15-17 October 2019 with the motto „Preventing Water Crises”. The Summit was opened by H.E. Mr János Áder, President of the Republic of Hungary. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary was responsible for the full preparation and conduct of the Summit and all related events.
