Science and Technology in focus
In order to make the right policy decisions, not only up-to-date scientific knowledge is needed but also a holistic view and comprehensive solutions; an approach that is widely applied by scientists. Without science, the understanding of water cycle is unimaginable. To reach the solution of the problems related to water, an innovative and comprehensive approach is needed, which encompasses many areas and sectors concerned, from floods all the way to droughts over cross-border water management. It is necessary to acknowledge what an important role the science-based approach in universal and global water consumption plays in our society and in our planet.
The main objective of the Science-Technology Forum is to examine the thematic areas identified for the Budapest Water Summit 2016 from a scientific and technical point of view.
The organisers of the Science-Technology Forum look forward to receiving the applications for the forum.
The Budapest Water Summit 2016 Science-Technology Forum is organised jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary and the following national and international organisations: Sustainable Water Future Programme, International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, Institute of Advanced Studies Kőszeg, Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
