Tchaikovsky: Swan Lake (Лебединое озеро)

Fashioned from Russian folk tales, Swan Lake is one of the ballets most often performed in the world. This world famous piece of one of the greatest composers of Russian romantic music, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was premiered with a great success in the Bolshoi Theatre of Moscow in 1877.

The purity of the swans taking a rest at the lake in the forest, the belief in human goodness, the eternal faith and love turns the ballet from a fairy tale to reality in front of the eyes of the audience thanks to the perfectly composed music and dance. The legendary ballet dancer, Rudolf Nureyev himself debuted in Kirov Theatre in Saint Petersburg in this ballet in 1958.
