Respighi: Fountains Of Rome

The Italian composition by Ottorino Respighi who was born in Bologna in 1879 is the first piece of the musical trilogy entitled “Fountains of Rome”. He composed it in 1916 to such great success that it was followed by two other masterpieces – by Pines of Rome and Roman Festivals.

We are lead through different parts of the day in the magical life of Rome by this wonderful masterpiece. We can be taken on a musical stroll in the eternal city, starting in the sweet moist dawn at the fountain of Valle Giulia and ending at the dusky fountain of Villa Medici.
