Szent Gellért spa and swimming pool

One of the most popular of the Budapest spas, a true pearl, the Szent Gellért Spa and Hotel was built in secessionist style and opened its gates in 1918, and was later developed further and received a beach-and-wave spa and jet-spa. The original wave machine that was installed in 1927 is still operating, making it not only unique to the spa but all of Europe as well.

Our guests can experience bathing among the walls decorated with the famous Zsolnay china ever since the thermal area got a Zsolnay cover during the last renovation.

The spa offers nearly all kinds of medical services, it has a complex medical spa service-system (day hospital) and “inhalatorium”, but guest may also try the lava-stone massage, the spa pedicure, the chocolate cure, the Cleopatra spa and the spa based on medical herbs, as well. The steam rooms and the Finnish sauna can also be used free of charge.

The medicinal water can be used for cosmetic purpose, too.

  • The 36oC outdoor pool operates in the winter time, along with the Finnish sauna
  • The newly renovated “inhalatorium” was recently opened offering a salt chamber and inhalation cures for guests
  • Free aqua fitness lessons are held hourly
  • As of January 2013 the spa can be visited by both men and women
