International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research, IAHR

Since its foundation in 1935, the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research has been an independent organisation of the world’s engineers and other experts active in the water management field. The Association has a wide range of activities in a wide range of fields, from the hydraulics of catchment areas through the development of water resources and hydro-informatics to ice engineering programmes.

The IAHR works on research as well as the practical application of research results to support expert work in this area. The organisation publishes 5 international scientific periodicals regularly, and also produces a quarterly magazine and a monthly newsletter to provide information to the international water management community.

The IAHR is committed to knowledge sharing, implemented through the organisation of workshops, the creation of working groups and the hosting of conventions and international conferences.
