Second Session of the Budapest Water Summit 2016 Organising Committee

With the participation of the relevant ministries, organisations and educational institutions, the Inter-Ministerial Committee responsible for the organisation of the Budapest Water Summit 2016 held its second session.

As previously announced, after the first successful event in 2013, the Hungarian Government has decided earlier this year to host the Budapest Water Summit 2016 in order to actively contribute to the development of the global water policy. Under the patronage of H.E. János Áder, President of Hungary, the event will take place in Budapest between 28-30 November 2016; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade co-ordinating the event expects nearly 1,400 guests from countries around the world.

Mr. István Joó, Ministerial Commissioner responsible for the organisation of the Budapest Water Summit 2016 reminded that this Summit will be one of the most important diplomatic events of the year 2016 in Hungary. The fundamental objective of the Summit is to promote in a very specific manner the solutions to the challenges in the 21st century such as reducing the continuously growing pressure on existing fresh water resources and the long-term development of sustainable water management.
