President of Hungary, H.E. Mr János Áder and members of the High-Level Panel on Water presented the Panel’s Action Plan in New York

The President of Hungary, H.E. Mr. János Áder, together with H.E. Ms. Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh, H. E. Mr. Jacob Zuma, President of South Africa, and Dr. Han Seung-soo, Former Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, presented the Action Plan of the High-Level Panel on Water at a press conference held on the margin of the 71st UN General Assembly on September 21.

In his speech, President Áder emphasized that 80% of climate change can be perceived through water-related problems and humanity will face a serious water crisis within the coming 15-20 years. He added that the task of the Panel is to gather best practices and to start pilot projects related to water management which will give answers to all these challenges.

As it is well-known, President János Áder is the patron of the Budapest Water Summit 2016, at which numerous members of the High-Level Panel on Water will be present. The programme of the Summit is closely linked to the action plan of the High-Level Panel on Water.
