Conference in Gyenesdiás on the challenges of adaptive water management in Hungary

On the 8th of September 2016, the Association of Climate-Friendly Municipalities will hold its conference in Gyenesdiás, with the title „The challenges of adaptive water management in Hungary”, which is one of the official pre-conference events of the Budapest Water Summit 2016. The conference will discuss the National Water Strategy, the methods of managing extreme situations and the possibilities of the sustainable agricultural water management.

Water management professionals, municipality leaders, local climate experts and the partner organisation representatives of the Association of Climate-Friendly Municipalities will attend the event. Presentations will be held by renowned experts who can present the approach of adaptive water management in a plain and practice-oriented way.

The event is based on the assumption that the challenges of climate change must be addressed by the tools of adaptive water management. The transformability and resilience of the existing, static water management systems fundamentally determine the possibilities of adaptation. The presentations of the conference will review these possibilities.
