27 September 2016 – Briefing on the Budapest Water Summit 2016 to the diplomatic missions

István Joó, the Ministerial Commissioner responsible for the organisation of the Budapest Water Summit 2016, held a briefing on Tuesday for the heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Hungary in which he introduced the program of the plenary, the thematic forums, the technical prerequisites for participation and the objectives that the three day Summit intends to realise.

The Ministerial Commissioner also informed the missions of the high-level participants which are to attend the Summit and noted that UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has informally confirmed his attendance.  Mr Joó subsequently briefed those present on the planned program of the Sustainable Water Solutions Expo, likewise a part of this high-level conference. The large number of diplomatic missions present at Tuesday’s meeting confirms that the BWS 2016 will be one of the most significant diplomatic events pertaining to the field of water this year.
