Exhibition in Lisbon before the Budapest Water Summit

At the initiative of the Hungarian Embassy in Lisbon and with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary and that of Portugal, an exhibition of the Hungarian-Portuguese painter Péter Balikó was inaugurated in the Camoes Institute, in Lisbon on 24 of September 2013. 

Cooperation with Ökoindustria exhibition

The ÖKOINDUSTRIA International Environmental Industry, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Exhibition  is the largest green industry exhibition in Hungary. The 3rd ÖKOINDUSTRIA will be held 25-27 September 2013. It shows the industry of the future to the professional partners and visitors. The main topics of the ÖKOINDUSTRIA: waste, products from secondary raw materials and wastes, prevention, air, water, soil, renewable energy, energy efficiency, eco building, climate protection, biotechnology, noise and vibration control.

Workshop about water in security policy organised by the Antall József Knowledge Centre

In association with the Budapest Water Summit held between 8 and 11 October 2013, the Antall József Knowledge Centre organizes a workshop that aims to draw people’s attention to the importance of water and its relevance from point of view of security policy.

During the workshop, young researchers of the field have the possibility to share their ideas and propose their suggestions. Given that water and its factors, which generate conflicts, are numerous, many topics will be discussed during the event taking place on 26 September 2013. 

5th Hungarian Climate Summit - „Water, Our Future”

The Climate Club, a Hungarian non-profit civil organisation, is organising a conference titled 5th Hungarian Climate Summit, „Water, Our Future” on 13 September. The patron of the event is János Áder, President of Hungary.

Water – the Drop of Life

is one of the inspiring topics of the Green-Go Short Film Contest and Festival. Application deadline is 30 September, the best films will be shown at the Budapest Water Summit as well. 

Hungarian Civil Society Forum in preparation for the Summit

The Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC) and the National Council for Sustainable Development are organizing a one-day forum for Hungarian civil society organizations in preparation for the Civil Society Forum of the Budapest Water Summit.

The Hungarian Water and Sanitation Industry in the 21st century

The Hungarian Investment and Trade Agency – in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – issued in June 2013 a sectorial brochure on the Hungarian water and sanitation industry. The brochure gives insight to potential foreign business partners on the tradition and current situation of the Hungarian water sector, role of the sector in the international market as well as on major organisations and companies of the water and sanitation business. The brochure wish to contribute the positioning and foreign trade expansion of the Hungarian water and sanitation industry.

Hungary holds a special interest in water

It was agreed to enhance regional and international cooperation on integrated water resources management as well as on sharing, exchange and dissemination of scientific and technical knowledge related to it at the 2nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, 19-20 May 2013. MFA Deputy State Secretary for Sectoral Policies Gábor Baranyai addressed the summit.
